The Netherlands
I headed for Gatwick Airport on July 28th. After being searched for terrorism, and passing through security twice, I boarded my EasyJet flight to the capital of freedom.
The reason it has been taking so long to let you know about the experience is that I began writing a long story to accompany the photographs. I am fed up of writing so for now will just post the photographs with captions.
A couple of interesting highlights were fashion week and bumping into my old Jr High / High School friend Ali on the street. All in all, a great trip.
Me with long time buddy Anuj who I visited while he was working in Alkmaar.
The lovely and happening central square in the small town of Alkmaar.
Febo: fried croquets in heated coin operated chambers, an Amsterdam institution.
Car garden
Sunset
Club 11; creatively named for the floor it's on
Dam square and the national phallus... I mean "monument"
Me and the canals
Joost (rhymes with toast), my excellent host
Nish and Ali, both Western Canada High School grads
